We had the pleasure of hosting the Women’s Development Collaborative (WDC)—a powerful network supporting women who lead transformative real estate—for a firsthand look at disability-forward housing in action at The Kelsey Civic Center.
Louisa, our Senior Project Manager of Real Estate, and Fiona Ruddy, Real Estate Development Project Manager at our codeveloper organization, Mercy Housing California, toured members through the community and presented on its development process.
Members were given an inside look at the building’s disability-forward design features, creative funding model, and how underutilized land in the heart of San Francisco was used to build a deeply affordable, accessible, and inclusive community. Esther, a member of our Inclusion Concierge team, also joined the group to present about our Resident Services model and how she supports residents with and without disabilities in her role.
We’re always grateful for the opportunity to connect with our field and share about the critical need for and value of disability-forward housing. Events like these allow us to learn from other developers and share our perspectives about how to build communities where everyone can thrive.
Thank you to the Women’s Development Collaborative for stopping by!
