Shared Space, Shared Purpose: Reflections From Our Winter Retreat

Our winter retreat brought together team members from across the country, including those serving our residents every day in the Bay Area.  We connected across the different parts of our mission and reflected on how everything we do is deeply interconnected: from changing policies to building homes to supporting the people who live in them.

Through deep-dive sessions, we created space to talk about new ideas for specific projects and long-term goals. Between these sessions, we took time to do relaxing and fun activities as a team, including bird watching, enjoying a sound bath, and roasting marshmallows.

Whether huddling over strategy or simply gathering around a campfire, our retreat served as a powerful reminder that every part of our lived experiences, technical expertise, and shared purpose is essential to building more disability-forward communities.
