Residents and team members gathered to celebrate the first anniversary of The Kelsey Ayer Station! In just twelve months, The Kelsey Ayer Station has become more than a building; it’s a model for disability-forward, resident-centered communities.
We had a great turnout for The Kelsey Avondale Site Clean Up! Volunteers showed up in Birmingham, AL to beautify the development site and celebrate disability-forward housing coming to the neighborhood.
Residents, team members, and board members came together for a sunny day at Oracle Park to cheer on the Giants as they played against the Colorado Rockies. The day was filled with unforgettable memories, and we had a blast cheering on our hometown team!
The Kelsey’s co-founder and CEO, Micaela Connery, and Housing Development Manager, Katie McAuley, visited Martha’s Vineyard to host a series of community engagement events, culminating in a Disability-Forward Housing Convening. The Convening was hosted in partnership with Martha’s Vineyard Inclusive Communities (MVIC), a local group of resident advocates who are organizing for more inclusive housing developments. The MVIC and The Kelsey will continue their work together via a Technical Assistance contract to propose a gentle-density, mixed-income housing development on the island.
Four runners are taking on the New York City Marathon next weekend in honor of The Kelsey. These champions for inclusive housing have raised over $20,000 (and counting!) with their fundraising efforts in support of The Kelsey. Help them reach their $25,000 goal!
