Angela Gravely-Smith is the Managing Director for Technical Assistance. She has more than 25 years of experience in housing, community development, and nonprofit organizational operations. Angela held past roles at Living Cities, NeighborWorks America, and Enterprise Community Partners, where she led technical assistance efforts and managed federal and philanthropic grant portfolios focused on strengthening internal systems and building the capabilities of nonprofit affordable housing developers and municipal government housing programs.  

She is a certified Housing Development Finance Professional through Grow America (formerly the National Development Council). She earned a Master of Public Administration from the School of Government at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a Master of City Planning from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts, Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University.

What does it mean to you to be Disability-Forward? Why does it matter? 

Disability-forward to me means a broader understanding and practice of inclusivity. It matters because true inclusion makes new pathways for belonging and building community – a better place for everyone.
