By designing homes and communities that reflect the full diversity and needs of people with and without disabilities, we not only remove barriers but also grow a movement rooted in inclusion and belonging. We’re grateful to our friends at Silicon Valley at Home (SV@Home) for featuring The Kelsey Ayer Station and the Inclusive Design Standards in their article, Designing Housing that Welcomes Everyone.
The Inclusive Design Standards include over 300 elements for creating disability-forward housing – addressing everything from sensory environments to wayfinding to community programming.
The article also details how local governments across Santa Clara County—including San José, Cupertino, Campbell, Santa Clara, and Los Altos—are embedding inclusion into housing policy through incentives, funding, and zoning reforms.
We’re honored to be part of this growing community of advocates, policymakers, developers, and neighbors who are committed to making disability-forward housing the standard, not the exception.
Thank you to SV@Home for amplifying this vision and for your partnership in expanding what’s possible. Together, we can open doors to homes and communities where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
