Birmingham Neighbors Come Together for The Kelsey Avondale Site Clean Up

A group of people gather on both sides of a banner hanging on a fence. The banner reads, “The Kelsey Avondale Site Clean Up: In partnership with Workshops Empowerment.” The Kelsey’s logo is on the left side of the banner.

We had a great turnout for The Kelsey Avondale Site Clean Up! Volunteers showed up in Birmingham, AL to beautify the development site and celebrate disability-forward housing coming to the neighborhood.

The day was full of energy, laughter, and excitement for the community. Together, we turned an overgrown, weed-filled lot into a foundation for future disability-forward homes.

After the clean-up, we headed over to Workshops Empowerment, a local organization that supports people with disabilities in finding employment, for lunch and a chance to connect with each other.  While landscaping will complete the site cleanup, the groundwork for a beautiful space has been laid. Thank you to all who came out and to Regions Bank and Regions Foundation for your support for this growing community!
