The Kelsey Civic Center: Housewarming Recap

We had an incredible time celebrating the opening of The Kelsey Civic Center with residents, partners, and city leaders in San Francisco.

The afternoon began with a joyful ribbon-cutting ceremony and a welcome from our co-developer, Tiffany Bohee, President of Mercy Housing California, followed by remarks from Micaela Connery, Co-Founder and CEO of The Kelsey. City leaders—including Mayor Daniel Lurie and Supervisor Bilal Mahmood—shared how The Kelsey Civic Center represents a new blueprint for affordable, accessible, and inclusive housing in San Francisco. Mayor Lurie also interviewed our Inclusion Concierge team on how they foster connection within the building.

A highlight of the day was the resident panel, moderated by James Vossoughi, Executive Director of Community Development Banking at JPMorgan Chase. Residents shared their experiences living in a disability-forward community and reflected on what The Kelsey Civic Center can teach other communities.

Guests also enjoyed tours, refreshments, and activities, exploring the shared spaces that make this community so connected.

As we celebrated, one thing was clear: this isn’t just housing—it’s home. Thank you to all who have made disability-forward housing in San Francisco possible.
