New Resource: National Low Income Housing Coalition Advocates’ Guide

Our friends at the National Low-Income Housing Coalition released their annual Advocates’ Guide! Whether you’re new to advocacy or have been in the field for years, this guide is an essential resource for understanding, and shaping, housing policy. We were especially excited to co-author an article on Federal Housing Protections for People with Disabilities alongside our partners at Justice in Aging and Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund.

While all articles support a disability-forward housing future, we especially highlight those on Mainstream and Non-Elderly Disabled (NED) Vouchers, Section 811: Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Program, Olmstead Implementation. These programs—and the policies behind them—demonstrate how disability-forward solutions can and should be woven into every housing initiative.

As proud members of NLIHC, we’re honored that our Managing Director, Allie, serves on its board to help bring a disability-forward lens to national housing policy. We’re grateful to be in this work alongside so many powerful advocates, and especially appreciative of the coalition behind this guide.

Our policy and advocacy team keeps this guide handy, and we know you’ll find it just as helpful!
