About The Event
Affordable housing and mental health awareness are oftentimes separate discussions. But each May, we’re challenged to think about the intersection of housing and health, thanks to the overlap of Affordable Housing Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. Senator Jim Beall has been a powerful leader and advocate around issues of housing and transit as well as mental health and disability rights. This discussion with the Senator and The Kelsey’s COO Caroline Bas will speak to the challenges and benefits of adding a cross-disability lens to housing advocacy in order to advance affordability, accessibility, and inclusion across our communities and our state.

Inclusion Hour w/ The Kelsey
The Kelsey accelerates and advocates for housing where people of all abilities, incomes, and backgrounds thrive. As we develop our first communities in San Jose and San Francisco, we’ll be hosting free local and virtual Inclusion Hours: housing and disability advocacy, arts, and recreation events and programs for people to build community and connect.
