About the Event
In Part 1 of this 3-part series, we will learn more about this innovative nonprofit, whose dual mission is building housing and engaging in advocacy and systems change. We will specifically focus on the Housing Design Standards for Accessibility and Inclusion, which The Kelsey has created in partnership with Mikiten Architecture and the Inclusive Design Council. The Standards were born from project-specific needs for a set of strategies and tools, beyond code requirements, to support cross-disability access and inclusion. But the housing needs of people with disabilities continue to go unmet around the nation, so it is The Kelsey’s mission to use the Standards to equip designers, builders, and developers with guidelines and frameworks for disability-forward housing creation. In Part 1, we will be joined by Micaela Connery and Fatimah Aure of The Kelsey.
