Yesterday, the San Francisco Planning Commission passed the Family Zoning Plan—an exciting step toward building a more inclusive city.
Ahead of the vote, we joined San Francisco YIMBY, Housing Action Coalition, and GrowSF on the steps of San Francisco City Hall, rallying with housing advocates to show broad support for this plan.
We are proud to support the Family Zoning Plan, which will help make housing in San Francisco:
- More available – Expanding supply across neighborhoods
- More affordable – Delivering more inclusionary units
- More accessible – New housing is more accessible
With our support, we also call for:
- Greater investment in deeply affordable housing
- Incentives for accessibility beyond the minimum
- Targeted supports for low-income & disabled residents
The Family Zoning Plan now moves to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for further review and votes. As this process continues, we look forward to ensuring that expanded housing development also includes stronger provisions for affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity.
Together, we can make San Francisco a city where all residents—disabled and non-disabled—can thrive.
