Rory’s Story

An illustrated portrait of Rory, a white man wearing a camouflage baseball cap and a green zip-up jacket, set against a warm tan background. Rory has short hair and a neutral expression in the portrait.

When Rory began searching for a place of his own, he knew he wanted to remain close to the community that had always supported him. He needed a home that was affordable and met his needs, while still being connected to the city he’d lived in his whole life. At The Kelsey Civic Center, Rory found exactly that. He shares that his home supports him to explore new possibilities while enjoying all the familiar sights, sounds, and energy of downtown San Francisco.

For Rory, this experience has been powerful and positive. He believes people with and without disabilities should have the opportunity to find a home that they’re proud of.
