Caroline’s #MyOwnHome Story

We're excited to welcome Caroline Bas to The Kelsey as our Chief Operations Officer. Caroline has been a long time housing advocate, and in the process learned about The Kelsey. You can find more about Caroline in her bio here. As with everyone on our team, we asked Caroline to share her #MyOwnHome story.

“My Own Home brings me pride to share my gifts (and couch) with others.

In December 2016, I was able to move into a new home that I knew would be mine for a very long time. When hosting my family for dinner that holiday season, I felt a sense of accomplishment for being able to spread joy through warmth, treats, and a full dining table. It was a feeling that I had never sought out, but was very rewarding when experienced.

Almost 70% of adults with disabilities still live at home with their parents because of a lack of supportive, affordable housing in the community. I’m excited to bring my skills to The Kelsey to produce more housing for people who need it the most. Everyone deserves the pride and independence to invite their loved ones into their home.”
